Movie Night with Dad İngilizce B1
Emma sat on the sofa with a blanket around her shoulders. It was Friday evening, and she was tired after a long week at school. Her father walked in with two bowls of popcorn.
“Ready for movie night?” he asked, smiling.
“Of course,” Emma replied. “What are we watching?”
“I thought we could watch something classic. Have you seen Forrest Gump?”
She shook her head. “No, but I’ve heard of it.”
Her father turned on the TV and dimmed the lights. As the film began, Emma slowly forgot her stress. The story pulled her in. She laughed, cried, and asked questions.
“Did that really happen?” she asked when the main character met famous people.
“Not exactly,” her dad explained. “It’s fiction, but it shows real events.”
They paused the movie halfway for a break. Emma poured drinks while her dad added more butter to the popcorn.
“I like this movie,” she said. “It’s sad but also funny.”
“I’m glad,” he said. “I watched it when I was about your age.”
Back on the sofa, they continued watching. The characters felt real, and the music gave Emma goosebumps. She especially liked the scenes with Forrest running.
“Sometimes,” she said softly, “I feel like running too.”
Her father looked at her. “You can always tell me how you feel, you know.”
Emma nodded. “I know.”
After the movie ended, they sat in silence for a moment. Then Emma looked at her father.
“Can we do this again next week?”
“Absolutely,” he replied. “Maybe we’ll watch The Pursuit of Happyness next time.”
“That sounds sad too,” she said, smiling.
“Yes,” he laughed. “But also hopeful.”
Emma stood up and stretched. The room was quiet, and the smell of popcorn still hung in the air. She collected the empty bowls while her dad turned off the TV.
In her room later, Emma thought about the film. It was more than just a movie—it was time with her father, and it helped her understand more about life.
Movie night became their weekly tradition. Sometimes they chose comedies, sometimes dramas, but always together. Through these evenings, they shared stories, emotions, and laughter.
And Emma learned that sometimes, a good movie could say what words could not.
