A Day in the Mountains İngilizce B1
Lena and her older brother Jonas planned a hiking trip for the weekend. They lived in a small town near the Alps and often spent time outdoors. On Saturday morning, they packed their backpacks with sandwiches, water bottles, fruit, and a map. Lena also brought a small first aid kit, just in case.
At 8 a.m., they left the house. The sky was blue, and the air felt fresh and cool. Birds sang in the trees, and the sun shone gently through the leaves. They followed a well-marked trail that led into the forest. “It’s a perfect day for hiking,” Lena said. Jonas nodded and smiled.
They walked uphill for over an hour. The path became steeper, and Lena started to breathe more heavily. “Let’s take a short break,” she said. They sat on a rock, drank some water, and ate apples. Jonas pointed to a mountain peak in the distance. “That’s where we’re going,” he said. “Only two more hours!”
Along the way, they met another hiker named Martin. He was in his fifties, wore a red jacket, and carried a walking stick. “Good morning,” he said. “Where are you two headed?” Lena replied, “To the top of Mount Adler.” Martin smiled. “Great choice. Be careful – the last part is rocky.”
The trail became more difficult. Lena slipped once but didn’t fall. Jonas helped her up. They climbed slowly and carefully. Trees disappeared, and now they saw more rocks and open sky. A cool wind touched their faces. “We’re almost there,” Jonas said.
Finally, after three hours of hiking, they reached the top. The view was amazing. They saw valleys, rivers, and small villages far below. “Wow,” Lena whispered. “It’s so beautiful.” They sat down, took photos, and ate their sandwiches. Martin arrived a few minutes later. “You made it!” he said. They all laughed and talked about other hikes.
After resting, they started the way down. It was easier, but they were tired. Lena's legs hurt a bit, but she felt proud. “Next time, we should bring more water,” she said. Jonas agreed.
When they arrived home, their parents greeted them. “How was it?” their mother asked. “Tiring, but amazing,” Lena answered. She showed them the photos. That night, Lena went to bed early. Her legs still hurt, but she smiled. “I want to do this again,” she thought.
Hiking made her feel strong and happy. She enjoyed the nature, the challenge, and the time with Jonas. It was a simple day, but it became a special memory. The next morning, she started planning their next trip.
This time, she added sunscreen, more snacks, and extra water to her list. She was ready to explore again, step by step, one trail at a time.
