Lina’s First Swim İngilizce A2
Lina had always been a little afraid of water. She loved the beach, but when it came to swimming, she would only dip her toes in. She watched other kids swim, splash, and dive into the pool, but she was too scared to try it herself.
One day, her mom said, “Lina, this summer we are going to the community pool. It’s time to learn how to swim.”
Lina felt nervous. “But what if I sink?” she asked.
Her mom smiled. “Don’t worry. I will be with you every step of the way. Swimming is fun once you get the hang of it.”
The next day, they went to the pool. The water was cool and blue. Lina looked at the other kids swimming, and her heart started to race.
“Let’s start slow,” her mom said. She led Lina to the shallow end, where the water only reached her knees.
“Just put your feet in, and let’s splash a little,” said Mom.
Lina stepped into the water, and it felt nice and refreshing. She giggled as the water splashed on her legs.
“Now, let’s try floating,” Mom said. “I’ll help you. Lay back, and I’ll hold you up.”
Lina was scared at first, but she slowly laid back. The water supported her body. She was floating! Lina felt so proud. It wasn’t as scary as she thought.
The next day, they went back to the pool. This time, Lina tried kicking her legs while holding onto the side of the pool. Her mom cheered her on.
“You’re doing great, Lina!” Mom said.
After a week of practice, Lina was ready to swim across the pool. She took a deep breath and paddled her arms, kicking her legs. She made it to the other side!
“I did it! I swam across the pool!” Lina shouted excitedly.
Her mom clapped and smiled. “You were brave, and now you’re a swimmer!”
From that day on, Lina loved swimming. She swam in the pool, practiced with friends, and even learned how to dive!
Lina learned that facing her fears made her stronger and more confident. And now, water was no longer something to be afraid of, but something fun and exciting.
